Der Salzburger Hof Hotel, Salzburg

Nice and Clean Hotel. However it takes 20 min on foot to get to the city centre. I'd definately stay there again...

I was satisfy with the quality of this small hotel, good trained staff, the room was clean, family atmosphere of the breakfast.

Good services, food&restaurant and very kind staff. We spent very pleasant moments and we hope to have our next holiday in this hotel.

We booked our room through you people and had a problem from the start. We tried to book for three people for the first two nights and then the next two for just the two of us. This could not be achieved on your form so had to book for three people for four nights. When we arrived at the hotel we explained the dilemma and said that our daughter would be leaving after two nights. The receptionist said that should be ok as the third bed was only the couch. To finish on this when we checked out no one wanted to know us or anything about it except that the room was paid adn goodbye. It was disappointing as they made the room up for two on the last days and was given a breakfast table for two, even asking if our daughter got home okay. The hotel would be the dearest and worst value hotel we have stayed in over the last two years of fairly extensive travel through Europe and Asia. It is obviously an old family type business and I think thats where the problem starts. The place needs a good kick in the bum including the rooms. Our room had multiple stains on the floor and the one chair. the shower obviously had a special shower head to minimise the water flow. The couch when not a bed was extremely uncomfortable. If you wanted an instant coffee or tea it was 1.5 euros. I accept that Salzburg is more expensive than say Vienna but I would rate the hotel in Vienna an eight by comparrison. Even the breakfast was boring and the old owner would come around the tables trying to be funny, maybe he should go to the Basil Fawlty Hotel finishing school, he was funny.Also the hotel is not as well positioned to the old town and gardens as advertised unless your an olympic walker. We went from here to Munich and stayed in the Derag Princess Hotel and we felt we had gone through a time zone and if you want to promote a hotel The Derag was excellent. We did ask the Salzburg for a refund of the diference for the two nights and suddenly their english wasnt so great. Regards Peter Andrews

Its a small hotel located just near to the main Salzburg station (3-4 min walk), the hotel rooms are not that large but were very cozy, heater was working perfectly fine. The staff at the reception were very friendly, they knew English well and gave us all the information we needed. Breakfast was nice and filling, Definately a good hotel to stay in

we were given the mozart suite, would be fantastic if only the air con was working, had to leave windows open so very noisy, staff are wonderful, so friendly and helpful, great breakfast, though not a full english in sight thank goodness, for anyone travelling by bus or train, which we did, are ideally located a short walk from main station.

Short break in this first rate family run hotel. On the bus route from the airport(only E1.80!)and close to the train station. Arrived at 9.45 am to leave bag and room was available. Very friendly front desk staff and breakfasts were magnificent- more choice than you could ever want.Hotel and room were spotless and well appointed. Two slight niggles; the room was non smoking but had not always been so and you could tell and the hotel charges for using the tea/coffee making facilities which I found a little strange, but only E1.50. Don't let the latter stop you staying at this hotel its top class. John
